Pricing
Why the same top-up costs more in some regions
A pack is not priced by converting one global price. Four separate decisions move the number, and only one of them is a discount.
Players often assume that a game sets one dollar price and converts it. In practice, publishers set regional prices, app stores take a cut, tax is added or included depending on the country, and resellers price in yet another currency. The result is that the same 6,480 pack can differ by 20% or more between storefronts.
Understanding which part of the difference is a discount, and which is just a different tax or fee, prevents most bad buying decisions.
Regional price tiers are deliberate
Publishers price by purchasing power, not by exchange rate. A pack may be cheaper in a lower-income market even after conversion. That is a real price difference, but it usually comes with a payment-country check.
Using a storefront from another region without a local payment method violates most store terms and can get an order reversed. A cheaper region is not a saving if you cannot legitimately buy there.
Tax presentation changes the comparison
Some countries require tax-inclusive display; others add sales tax or VAT at checkout. A 10% tax difference looks like a price difference if you compare the displayed numbers directly.
Always ask whether the number on the screen is the final charge. The calculator’s tax switch exists to make this explicit rather than guessing.
Conversion is not free
Even when two storefronts show the same local price, the exchange rate used by your bank or payment provider can differ from the rate on the day the pack was priced. A few percent can disappear in the spread.
The rows on this site record the conversion rate and date used. They are a comparison tool, not a locked quote; your payment provider has the final say.
Use the region that matches your account
Compare channels within your own region first. The gap between the official store and an authorized reseller in the same region is usually bigger than the gap between two regions after tax and conversion.
If you are travelling or moving, update the store region legitimately and then re-run the comparison. Do not buy through a region you cannot pay from.
Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to buy from a cheaper region?
It depends on the store’s terms and your residency. The practical rule is that the store region should match your payment method and account. Otherwise the order can be reversed.
Why does the same pack cost different amounts on iOS and Android?
Platform fees, local promotions and different tax rules can produce different prices. Compare the storefront you actually use, not the platform you read about.
Does the calculator include exchange-rate fees?
It records the rate and date used for each row. Your bank or payment provider may add its own spread, which is outside the listed price.
